The SC16IS752 is an I2C bus/SPI bus interface that connects to a dual-channel, high-performance UART, providing data rates up to 5 Mbit/s, low operating and sleep currents, and eight additional programmable I/O pins for the application. Seamless protocol conversion from I2C bus/SPI to RS-232/RS-485, and fully bidirectional. The SC16IS752 only supports SPI clock speeds of 4 Mbit/s and it supports IrDA SIR up to 1.152 Mbit/s. The internal register set is backward compatible with the widely used and popular 16C450. Supports automatic hardware and software flow control, automatic RS-485 support, and software reset. Allows the software to reset the UART at any time, independent of the hardware reset signal.
