Fouquet was a French painter and miniaturist of the fifteenth century, known as the master of panel painting and manuscript illumination. He seems to be the inventor of portrait miniature, one of the most influential artists of his time.
Illustrated with a monochrome frontispiece, five colour plates, one in-text colour illustration, seventy-six monochrome plates, and five in-text monochrome illustrations.

CONDITION
In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Dustwrapper is lightly age-toned, with a mark to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with some odd spots to the first and last few pages.
