I have been installing for 18 years and when it comes to 3/8 floor you had to full spread glue down or use a flooring staple gun. I found the PowerNail 2000 F and loved it. Superior Holding power and no worry about backing out how designed or splitting. I about to buy another one and get rid of the old style staple guns.

Bought this product because we were laying Stranded Bamboo Flooring. I tried every type of floor nailer prior to buying this. I even tried 3 different staplers . Every other product destroyed the tongue or groove of the stranded bamboo flooring product. Also, this thing will drive the cleat through the top of the bamboo flooring and into the sub floor! Not even a standard floor nailer could do that with their 16-Gauge cleats! Our flooring was almost 1/2' thick and it came from flooring liquidators. This was the only product that did not destroy the flooring. The main reason is, the cleat size. These things are like needles! But, they work great and it fastens the boards to the sub-floor.

Put down 750sf of 3/8" engineered flooring and it worked perfectly. Ran at 80lbs of air and not a problem. So much easier than gluing floor down. Highly recommend this nail gun.

This was the gun recommended by the flooring manufacturer. It worked flawless. Never locked up or jammed. We put in 900 sq ft of 3/8' T&G solid bamboo flooring, using 20 gauge 1.25' cleats. The flooring was really hard stuff and the gun and cleats handled it well. We were concerned about the 5.25' wide boards cupping, being only 3/8' thick, so we also put glue down the center of each board. It increased our labor time, but gave us peace of mind.

Great nailer. So far installed around 450 sq ft of 3/8' strand woven bamboo (#HL655S) using 1' Powercleats (#L10020) with 600 sq ft to go. Gone through over 1,500 cleats with no issues or jamming. Foot is easy to adjust and remove for close-in nailing. Large tapping block and carrying case round out a great package. Tongue splitting can be a problem with the 3/8' stuff, haven't run into many issues with this nailer set around 80 PSI.
