I have made this wall clock from two refurbished, wine, oak cask staves (side section of cask, which means it is slightly curved and will not lie flush with the wall in the middle area).

The condition is "Seller refurbished", but each item is individually made by me and, as such, is unique.

Casks are used for storing, or maturing, a variety of alcoholic liquids. The casks can be used several times and not always for the same product. The casks are used over a certain period of time for this purpose. The cask used for this item is not an "end of life" cask, it is actually a top quality Grade "A" cask, which was last used to store wine.

The clock has, basically, three parts, the first being the two complete oak staves. They have been refurbished, gently sanded and varnished, in order to maintain their natural beauty. This section is approx 95 cm long, 13.5 cm wide (at centre), and 2.5 cm thick. The oak staves weigh approx 2 kg. The rear of the staves still have evidence of the inner cask staining (part of the wine storeage process) or charring (part of the whisky maturing process). The rear is routered to allow flush fitting of the clock mechanism. At the rear, it has a new, brass coloured, metal, wall fixing point. The original cask securing lid grooves are present at the rear of the clock (top and bottom). The two staves are connected in four areas by the original galvanised metal, refurbished, cask ring.

The second part, is the quartz clock, which is a NEW movement. It is a ticking movement, rather than a sweeping movement. It is not cheap and comes from a UK supplier and has a 03 month warranty. The movement requires one AA battery (not supplied).

The third part are the clock hands and hour markings. Both of these are also new, and from a UK specialist seller. In the photo, the clock has 6 cm tall "Olde English" numbers to mark the six and twelve hour positions. These are laser cut from 3 mm, best quality "medite" mdf. The numbers are thin aluminium metal, which is brass coloured. The total approx sizes are 9.5 cm (minute), 6.5 cm (hour) and 12.5 cm (overall length of second).

I have other numerals and hands available and am happy to provide such information and discuss any preferences.

As a natural product, with a working history, associated marks, colourings, adaptations and size variations will be present.

In relation to items I make on a regular basis, the measurements and photos, may be of other stock items, although, they will be very similar.

Please note the curve in stave sections, as per photos. The centre will not sit against the wall.

I do not accept returns, sorry.

As this is a hobby, I only sell to mainland UK, sorry.
