Dan Spitz (b. Jan 28, 1963) is an American musician best known as the lead guitarist of the American heavy metal band Anthrax from 1983-1995 & 2005-2008. The band is considered 1 of the leaders of the ‘80s thrash metal scene & is part of the "Big Four" of the genre, along with Metallica, Megadeth & Slayer. 4 of their studio albums achieved Gold Certifications, including 3^rd record Among the Living ('87) which cemented their reputation as 1 of the most successful thrash metal bands. Anthrax's lineup has changed numerous times. Their revolving cast of singers & lead guitarists, include Neil Turbin, John Bush, Dan Spitz & Rob Caggiano. Since 2013, the band has consisted of Ian, drummer Charlie Benante, bassist Frank Bello, vocalist Joey Belladonna & lead guitarist Jonathan Donais. In 2010 Spitz formed Christian rock/metal band Red Lamb, which was known for lyrics on autism awareness. Anthrax has sold over 30 million records!
