This is an old reproduction of high quality by German Renaissance painter Lucas Cranach the Younger (1472-1553) of the beautiful Countess Elizabeth of Saxony, a controversial figure of the German era of Martin Luther and the Reformation. The painter inherited the workshop of his famous artist father Lucas Cranach the Elder and became very successful. The artist signed his work with a family crest stamp seen in the bottom lower right corner. He was known for his innovation of fine drawing with a painted face.
This reproduction originated in Germany and the information is listed at the bottom. It is clearly a quality piece on heavy weight paper (120 pound) and well defined with subtle and beautiful coloring. There is some age staining around the edges but this does not interfere the image. Page size is 15 X 20" and image size is 11 X15".  Walnut frame measures 1-1/2" in depth and textured pink toned mat over 2" making the allover picture size with frame approx. 18 X 23". There is no glass as it was brittle due to age so I removed it for safety. The walnut frame is not perfect, has a few slight nicks and dents but allover condition is good.
