Fix your 07-13 Silverado LS/LT/Work Truck or Sierra SL/SLE/Work Truck dashboard with a molded plastic dash cover from DashSkin! This cover is molded to the exact shape of your vehicle's dashboard, and mounts right over the top to cover cracks and holes. The cover spans both halves of the two-piece dashboard as one solid piece, making the finished product super stealthy and hard to detect for passengers. The cover requires no special tools to install, and mounts using silicone adhesive (included). The workmanship of the cover is warranted for life against cracking, warping, etc. Dash Skins even work great with large pieces of dash missing, as long as there is enough dashboard left on all edges (perimeter) to serve as a stable and level foundation for the cover. If you have cracks you will be covering, we advise cleaning your original dashboard well with degreaser, and bracing any cracks using 100% silicone RTV adhesive to prevent further cracking or rattling. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO PIECE KIT AND THE ONE PIECE DASH COVER?Our one-piece design is ideal for customers looking for the stealthiest, most seamless possible finished product. The one-piece blends in a little better since it lacks the gap between the two pieces, and it can be used in situations where you are missing more of your dash and have holes to cover. The two piece kit on the other hand allows for easy removal of the front defrost section (to replace the ambient light sensor). When in doubt, go with the one piece! You won't regret it, as it is quicker to install, a little more cost effective, and looks killer all said and done! HOW TO HELP STOP ANNOYING RATTLES: If your dash is rattling or sqeaking, using EXTRA silicone adhesive in all of the cracks can help make a huge difference! Apply the first tube of silicone that is included with the cover to the underside of the skin just like the instructions specify, then use your extra adhesive (purchased at any hardware store, 100% silicone RTV adhesive) to apply directly to the dash itself to fill all cracks with a thick bead of silicone, and outline any holes (if you have holes) with the silicone just before installing the cover. We don't recommend allowing this to cure first, apply the skin while all of silicone on the cracks is still wet so the cracks bond to the underside of the skin, this way the cover can help hold everything still like a membrane of support. If you have rattles coming from underneath the dash, obviously this surface treatment will not help stop those noises, but for the vast majority of our local installs, this little trick works extremely well! NOTE: If the clips under your defrost dash panel (nearest the windshield) are broken, be sure to consider applying some silicone to the broken clips as well to hold that piece still, this can be a hidden source of rattles as well.
