ESP32-CAM is a WIFI&Bluetooth dual-mode development board, which uses PCB on-board antennas and cores based on ESP32 chips. It can work independently as a minimum system.
ESP integrates WiFi, traditional Bluetooth, and BLE Beacon, with two high-performance 32-bit LX3 CPUs, 7-stage pipeline architecture, main frequency adjustment range 80MHz to 240MHz, on-chip sensor, Hall sensor, temperature sensor and so forth.
Fully compliant with WiFi 802.11b/g/n/e/i and Bluetooth 4.2 standards, it can be used as a master mode to build an independent network controller, or as a slave to other hosts MCUs to add networking capabilities to existing devices.

Installation notes:
Connect the TTL or FTDI programmer RX to esp TX and programmer TX to esp RX. (open serial monitor and press the reset button, it will start up a demo code indicating the board is functional)
connect IO0 to ground.
press the reset button, you can confirm there is a data connection by having serial monitor open, it will output a message saying "ready to download" when in flash mode.
Next you can program your ESP CAM.
If using the espressiff builtin camera server example sketch, make sure to program as "AI Thinker ESP32 CAM" and in the code, comment out wrover esp32 and uncomment out AI Thinker, this board uses the same pin definitions as the AI thinker model.
Next program the ESP cam. if you get ...___....____....____ it means you have a bad connection, try changing the baud rate, cpu speed or flash speed where possible to something lower, or, just try again. Changing the power from 5v to 3.3v may resolve this issue too, make sure to only put 3.3v into the 3.3v rail, and never EVER put 5v through it or you will blow the board. you shouldnt have communication issues however if it gives you the download ready message in flash mode via serial monitor. it also happens if the board is not in flash mode or listening, make sure to hit the reset button before programming.

After programming, disconnect UO0 from ground, and press reset after opening the serial monitor.

several data check messages will display.
if you get an error along the lines of "vsync failed" or a message with error code "0x20003", try re-seating the camera, otherwise try programming the camera again or resetting, or disconnecting power for a while then reconnecting. this message occurs when the actual camera is not able to be initialized. it can also be caused by a weak power supply, use a USB3.0 USB port when initially testing the ESPCAM

eventually you will see this "............." this means the camera was successfully probed and passed inspection, and the board is currently attempting to connect to wifi.
When the board connects to wifi (note it is unable to connect to 5G) it will tell you, and provide you with an IP address you can enter into your browser to stream through the camera. Note you may have problems with streaming if multiple people try to watch the feed simultaneously. If the wifi is connected it means the system check passed and the camera is operational, a bad connection can also prevent you getting a stream even though you can still pull still images. If you cant even get still images, you may have some sort of security somewhere preventing the stream.

OTA programming code also exists which you can add to the program which allows you program the ESP cam over wifi so you dont need to go through the hassle of using the programmer more than once the first time around.

Included in order:
When ordering ESP32cam + camera; you receive ONLY the ESP32cam board + camera module as shown  in the photo, no default external antenna, since the ESP32 board has an internal antenna built in.

Other antennas are for the antenna which includes all the neccesary plugs or adaptors to ensure you can connect it to the ESP32, no additional parts required for usage.

FTDI programmer comes alone however, you will need to use your own jumper cables to connect to the ESP32, these are just plain jumper cables, you dont need a special unique plug or anything.
