This is an original vintage 1950s large Steiff mohair elephant with open, red felt mouth. Elephants were the first animal that Steiff made. These toys were passed down from my family and are all originally from Germany.
As these are very old toys, and I have listed all flaws:
1. Airbrushed eyebrows, trunk wrinkles, and toenails faded.
2. Threadbare trunk tip and in parts as shown.
3. Felt pads on foot bottoms worn through.
4. Loose stitching on mouth.
5. Rip on right ear.
6. Missing the 'Steiff Knopf im Ohr' button and tags. 

Approximately 9" / 22 cm tall

I have a large collection of these, and will be listing them as I sort through them.
