Japanese Ceramic HAKATA NINGYO Doll 19cm / Hydrangea

The technique of HAKATA NINGYOU is Japanese traditional since Edo period.

HAKATA is name of the city in FUKUOKA Pref. HAKATA NINGYOU is one of the traditional craft goods of FUKUOKA Pre.

It is produced a lot also outside the HAKATA district now.

HAKATA NINGYOU is an unglazed pottery clay figure.

<How to make HAKATA NINGYO> Below explanation is very simple. Actually a more deliberate and detailed work is required.

It builds a prototype with clay.

The gypsum mold is taken from the prototype.

Clay is pushed into the gypsum mold, and the reproduction is made.

The reproduction is unglazed.

The unglazed reproduction is colored to white with Gofun or chemical paints.

And then it is colored and it completes.

The tracking of Surface mail is available at Japanpost office only but it is not easy.

It takes around 2 months to U.S. and Europe by Surface mail. Sometimes it delays.
