Each individual curtain measures approximately 56" / 142cm wide before gathering.
The stated width is the flat width of each individual panel, not the finished gathered width.
36", 48" & 54" DROPS – NARROW GATHERING TAPE
These shorter curtains have a 2cm narrow gathering tape heading.
The tape allows the curtain to be gathered and hung using suitable curtain hooks/track fittings.
They may also be suitable for curtain wire or a very slim rod depending on your installation.
These shorter sizes DO NOT have the wide back-tab heading used on our longer curtains.
72", 81", 90", 108" & 118" DROPS – WIDE MULTI-FUNCTION HEADING TAPE
These longer curtains feature a wide multi-function heading tape, giving you more flexibility in how you hang and style your curtains.
OPTION 1 – GATHERED / PLEATED
Use suitable curtain hooks with the heading tape to create gathered or pleated folds and hang the curtains from a curtain track or rail.
OPTION 2 – BACK TAB
For a clean and contemporary appearance, slide your curtain pole through the concealed tabs on the back of the heading tape.
This creates soft, even folds while keeping most of the pole attachment hidden from the front.
This type of versatile heading is similar in principle to other multi-way heading-tape curtains, which can be installed using tabs or curtain-track hooks.
PLEASE NOTE: The back-tab option is available on 72", 81", 90", 108" and 118" drops only.
Each individual panel is approximately 142cm / 56" wide when laid flat.
For the best appearance, sheer voile generally looks better with some gathering rather than being stretched completely flat.
As a general styling guide, approximately 1.5× the window/pole width gives lighter folds, while around 2× gives a fuller appearance. IKEA gives a similar 1.5× / 2× / 2.5× progression for light, fuller and extra-full curtain arrangements.
Please measure your window, pole or track carefully before ordering.
Voile is intentionally lightweight and sheer.
It allows natural daylight to pass through while softening glare and giving your window a light, airy appearance.
It may provide a degree of privacy during daylight hours, but it does not provide complete privacy. When it is darker outside and your interior lights are switched on, people outside may be able to see through sheer curtains. IKEA gives the same warning for sheer curtains.
For greater privacy, use voile together with blinds or heavier curtains.
Because voile is transparent, its colour and appearance can change considerably depending on:
Natural or artificial lighting • Background colour • How heavily it is gathered • Screen settings
The same colour normally appears deeper when gathered and lighter when stretched flat against a bright window.
If an exact colour match is important, we recommend checking a fabric sample before ordering.
