HIGH FLYING BEVERLEY - Blackburn Beverley by Stephen Chard GAvA


The RAF's Heavy Transport aircraft between 1956 and 1967, the Beverley could carry troops not only in the main body of the aircraft but also in the tail-boom.

Though quite ungainly looking, the aircraft gained a reputation as a superb and rugged supply aircraft which served throughout the world in the various trouble-spots of the time. 

The aircraft in the painting comes from 47 Squadron
