We are selling a very rare but genuine Ming style CHAIR (not a side table). Official name is Chan Deng (禅凳). It was made for people like monks to sit on. It is made of Tie Li Mu (铁梨木). This wood is very tough and heavy, used in hundreds of years ago being one kind of rosewood in China, but no longer available now as material. This chair was made in Ming or Early Qing Dynasty. It was bought in an antique store in Singapore in 1980s. The owner paid 1200 Singapore dollars at that time (about 1200 Canadian dollars). The image of the receipt will be provided upon request.
Size of the chair is 27 × 21 x 20 inches, very heavy.
