Lawrence's first novel. Set in a fictitious version of the Eastwood area of Lawrence's youth, this novel explores the issues that arise in mismatched marriages, and the uneasy border between town and country.
CONDITION
In a blue cloth binding. Externally, a trifle rubbed. Some bumping to extremities. Hinges tender. Splitting to cloth at rear joint. Bookplate to front pastedown and date stamp to rear pastedown. Internally, generally firmly bound although strained in places. Pages bright with occasional scattered spots. Bookplate to front pastedown.
