I wish I could of taken more pictures to show you more details. This is truly a one-of-a-kind book. So many people have contributed in helping put this book together. You have great recipes that were given from moms, dads, grandparents, children all from the community that contributed in this book, even from Barbara Bush! You have recipes, as well as local business advertisements, and coupons that never expire! The kids recipes that they turned in are so cute (the youngest one that I saw is from a 4 year old)! Includes Household Hints like chill your candle in the refrigerator for 24 hours, and it wont drip, and burns so much longer. Contains a food term dictionary, calorie count chart breakdowns, list of herbs and seeds plus how to use them in cooking. Has a beef cut chart, has a timing chart for how long to cook vegetables for the best flavor as well as the best nutrition. Tells you how much food you need if you are going to serve 25 people, or 100 people. 10 things you need to take time to do in life. This book is dedicated to Maria Montessori who opened our eyes to the secrets of childhood. "The child should love everything that he learns for his mental and emotional growths are linked. Wherever is presented to him must be made beautiful and clear." EXPRESSION OF APPRECIATION: We thank all of our contributors-First Lady Barbara Bush and the children and adults of our community-who submitted material for publication in our "Familial Feast" We are quite proud of this special collection and equally proud of the efforts that went into it. We very much appreciate the many hours that volunteers spent in organizing recipes and selling books. A special thanks goes to the tireless efforts of four outstanding volunteers. First, to Eileen Theiss who enthusiastically volunteered for two immense jobs: recipe collection and sales; to Donna ("Oh, I know them") Tynan, who with her limitless contacts headed up the advertising team; to Cheryl Hochstetler who spent nights and weekends bringing those ads to life; and lastly, but not least, to Dana Isaac whose incredible artistic talents embellish our cover and recipe dividers. Again, thanks to all of you, and BON APETIT!!! Cathi Gordon Cookbook chairperson 1990-1991.
