Cast Iron Penny Bank; Tow-Headed Boy on Barrel Whittling, in Red Shirt Blue Pants.

Best information that can be found, at this time; Made in Germany, or reasonably close, in the early 1930's. Keep in mind that any metallic artifacts made in Germany, pre-WWII, to have survived was a great fete. Anything metal; toys, agricultural implements, kitchen ware, anything metal, was diverted to the; "War Effort". This was more pronounced in Germany than in America.

There are other; "Boy-on-Barrel" banks similar to this piece, basically a boy sitting on a barrel whittling a piece of wood. Many are not exactly the same in; paint schemes, casting characteristics, etc.

This is a 2-piece bank, held together by a single screw in the back.

Weight = 1 Pound 10 Ounces.

Height = 5⅝”.
