The aim of this book is firstly to overview the basics of flour production using water power and millstones. It then goes on to describe the history and main features of interest of each of the 19 English corn watermills in the National Trust collection that are open to the public on a regular basis. It is hoped that the reader will be encouraged to visit some or all of the mills, when they are open, and gain an insight into our past industrial heritage.
