Built by British locomotive-building company Motor Rail, the Simplex 20HP was a tractor used during the WWI in the War Department Light Railways (WDLR), a system of narrow gauge trench railways. It provided a flexible and reliable method of supplying the front lines, using small tractors like this to transport ammunition, timbers, etc. The Simplex 20HP was built according to the War Department specifications in 1916, which were basically a 600mm (2 feet) gauge locomotive, with no more than 1 ton of axle load per axle, and capable of hauling up to 15 tons at 8 km/h. The hood can be left open to show the engine. One length of track is included.

Important! This item is unassembled and unpainted. All extra model kit(s) and figure(s) in the pictures are for illustrative purposes only, and they are not included.
