Extreme Fine Gold Mat Matting 4-TPI Saw-Tooth EPDM Sluice Dredge 6-Inch Extruded

USPS First Class International Shipping: $23.50
Note: This is a custom listing intended to ship a quantity 2 of the 6 inch by 12 inch 4-TPI Sawtooth Mats Internationally (approximately 1 pound shipping weight. The cost to ship up to 4 square feet (quantity 8 of the 6 inch by 12 inch mats would be $34.25. If you would rather purchase 2, 3 or 4 square feet of this mat rather than just this 1 square foot per this listing, contact me.

What does the acronym EPDM stand for?   Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (a type of synthetic rubber).

What will be included with your purchase?   Absolutely nothing is included with this listing beyond the mat width and quantity that you order.

Where is this saw-tooth mat made?   This saw-tooth style mat is brand new and has never before this year, July of 2016, been available for sale to the public. I designed this mat in Oregon to meet and excel at the specific demands of, and with the highest gold recovery efficiency for, the extremely fine gold found here on Oregon's gold rich coastal beaches. I commissioned this mat's manufacture in Ohio, USA.

How does the performance of this saw-tooth design mat compare to other mats like conveyor, ribbed, fabric, hybrid-fabric, extruded vinyl spaghetti or other extruded EPDM mats?   There really is very little comparison. While other types of low profile mats may have geometries capable of maintaining minimal water column turbulence, the saw-tooth mat's geometries are unique in that they excel at creating and maintaining back-current eddies behind each riffle that help to promote the clearing of black and blond sands while promoting a greater percentage of area with fluid bed motion of captured sediments allowing for the rapid capture and sequestering of extremely fine gold into the depths of the teeth. Other extruded EPDM mats may have reasonably good performance when confronting the typical coarse gold dredging conditions found in high gradient mountain stream environments, however, these same mats and riffles tend to perform poorly when confronted with extremely fine gold. The saw-tooth mat is not designed to capture larger gold or nuggets. However, the saw-tooth mat can and will perform extremely well in capturing extremely fine gold when positioned at the top or bottom of a sluice that also includes riffles or mats with larger geometries efficient at capturing larger gold.

Is screening or classification of materials required before running them on the saw-tooth mat?   Perhaps. The concern about unclassified materials involve larger pebbles, rocks and cobbles impacting the saw-tooth mat and disturbing the retained fine gold. Impact trauma can physically dislodge previously captured fine gold causing that gold to leave its place of sequestration and enter back into the slurry and travel a ways down the mat before either being captured again or going to tails. The maximal particle size will vary tremendously depending upon the smallest size of gold present that you are wanting to capture and the flow volume or velocity of the slurry. In general, screening to about 1/4" or 1/8" minus should be sufficient when necessary. For most beach miners, however, screening is seldom necessary.

When it comes to recovering extremely find gold, why does the saw-tooth mat perform so much better than other mats or typical Hungarian riffles?   Other extruded EPDM mats or larger riffled sluices cannot come close to performance of the saw-tooth mat in capturing extremely fine gold because the larger geometries of those mats and riffles disturb the slurry's laminar flow creating magnitudes greater turbulence of the water column. Extremely fine gold is very susceptible to kiting and will tend to skip along down the sluice hopping from one turbulence generating feature to the next until reaching the tails and being lost forever. While this kind of water column turbulence might not be a major concern where only coarse gold predominates a given alluvial deposit, extremely fine gold, such as can be found on Pacific Ocean beaches along the West Coast of North America, or the Snake River of Idaho, require highly specific rib or riffle geometries tuned and optimized for one thing only... extremely fine gold.

Condition Details:   New
This 4-Teeth-per-Inch Saw-Tooth EPDM mat is brand new and you will receive it in its as-manufactured condition. In other words, I have not cleaned or scrubbed the mat and you will find that the mat is coated with release powder and possibly a small amount of oily films. The release powder is used by the manufacturer to help prevent the hot extrusions from sticking together as they are cut and stacked immediately following extrusion and subsequent hot salt bath curing. I highly recommend you thoroughly clean and scrub your mat with soap, water and a heavy bristle brush before putting your mat into service.

Guarantee:  I am so confident you will love the extreme fine gold performance of this mat I am offering you a no questions asked money back guarantee. However, should you wish to return your purchase you will be responsible for paying your own return shipping costs.

Return Policy:  If you are having problems with this mat or you are dissatisfied with it for any reason please message me so I can hopefully help you resolve your problems. Returning the product is easy, just initiate your return through eBay. By purchasing this mat you agree to pay your own return shipping costs. Once I receive your returned shipment I will issue you a full refund.
