Propolis is the hive’s own protective resin. Honey bees collect sticky resin from plant buds and bark, blend it with beeswax and their own enzymes, and use it to seal cracks and keep the hive clean. Beekeepers have gathered it for thousands of years, and it remains a household staple in Brazil today.
Green propolis exists only in Brazil. Its colour and aroma come from one plant — Baccharis dracunculifolia, the “alecrim-do-campo” shrub that grows wild in the highlands of south-east Brazil (São Paulo and Minas Gerais). Bees that forage on it produce a resin with a characteristic green tint and a naturally occurring compound called Artepillin-C, which is found in Brazilian green propolis and nowhere else.

Directions: Serving size printed on the Nutrition Facts panel: 20 drops (1 mL). Add the drops to half a glass of water or juice and drink; the extract will cloud the water — that is normal for a wax-free propolis.
