When David Roberts returned from Egypt and published his set of lithographs he became famous and his painting of Egypt were in great demand. He painted copies of his own lithographs to meet this demand.  This beautiful scene was probably painted in the 1850s. Original watercolor, approximately 5" x 7 3/8" image size.  Very good condition. This photograph was taken of the painting mounted behind glass.
