Walk down the fishing aisle at the store. Notice those pearly looking baits? Have you ever wondered how they make them those eye catching pearly colors? The trick is Mica Powder! And now you have the ability to duplicate what is in the store. Pick up a bag of your favorite color, add a 1/4 teaspoon or so to a small batch of plastisol, mix well and pour. It's that simple! This is some really cool stuff! This mica powder has a greenish iridescent sheen to the pearl white color when used by itself; HOWEVER add a drop or two of black to the batch and the sheen turns the bait into a totally different color (check out the pics)! Adding different colors will get you different results (a drop of Opaque Red makes a nice pink with a slight greenish sheen to it, kind of like a real worm - see the pics). |
