Up for sale now this art print poster of the Andy Warhol RETROSPECTIVE Marilyn Monroe exhibition at Museum Ludwig Köln (Cologne), held from 21 November 1989 untill 11 February 1990. The poster features the Warhol signature as header and 9 variations of his famous Monroe painting. 

The exhibition advertised with this poster, concerns the first comprehensive retrospective devoted to the work of the great Pop Art artist Andy Warhol (1928-1987) after his death. It opened at The Museum of Modern Art in New York on 6th February 1989. After this, it travelled to Chicago; London, UK; Cologne (Köln), Germany; Milan, Italy and ended in Paris, France in August 1990.

The press release on ANDY WARHOL: A RETROSPECTIVE, stated the exhibition examined ‘the issues of pictorial representation and art as environment which Warhol presents in his direct, colorful, and deceptively simple oeuvre. At a time when Warhol is being widely reexamined, the exhibition presents the full breadth of the artist's extraordinarily rich and prolific career.’ This poster has no hardback and is in excellent condition: Very bright colors and highly decorative.
