High iron level will help bring out fiery colours. Needs heavy trimming to keep plant bushy. If you don't have lots of light, plants might lose the colour with time. It is sold in emersed form. Its emersed leaves are red- green. Once planted in the tank plant will go through transition period changing colour and shape of the leaves. Colour will depend on the conditions under which the plant grows. If provided with highly intensive light, good supply of liquid fertiliser and CO2, it grows quite fast and brings the colour out. A low CO2 level and less intensive light induce the lower leaves to turn green and fall off.
