Pyramid of Caius Cestius in Rome

Very well done etching of the pyramid with three figures  in the foreground.

Inscription on the front

From the first century BC, the pyramid of Caius Cestius, about 36 m (120 ft. ) high, looks as if it belongs to the Egyptian landscape. It was constructed during the Cleopatra craze in architecture that swept across the room. Caius Cestius was a rich magistrate in Imperial Rome who's tomb is more impressive than his achievements

Some foxing on the paper small hole and a small tear. Overall condition is very good on the image

Measurements are 14" x 12.125"

These loose folios were done in the beginning of 19th century with a lot of interests of Egyptian and Roman antiquity.
