This exceptional hand colored etching and aquatint is by the noted Parisian artist William Adolphe Lambrecht (1876-1940). The print depicts the Souk, or market in Gabes, Tunisia. It appears to have been done in 1926, based on the copyright info in the upper right corner which is not completely legible, so that would make it more than 90 years old. The print is signed in the lower right “W. A. Lambrecht” and numbered in the lower left, 74/350”, both in pencil. It is a beautifully composed print with an interesting and active foreground, midground and background. And of course, it is a very richly-colored print. I have looked at a number of prints by Lambrecht on the internet, and this one is by far the best composed and most richly colored of his prints that I have seen. It measures18.5” x 22.5” the plate and 22” x 25” the sheet. The print is in good condition, with no holes, tears, scratches or fading. It has been recently restored; there is a very faint matline remaining,  but the paper is very clean otherwise, with brilliant rich colors. It is unframed. I will ship the print in a heavyweight tube, unless you are local and then you can take the frame and glass which are in OK condition. .
