1956 Rolex 14K Gold Oyster Watch

Movement: High grade 25 Jewel Swiss Rolex caliber 1030 Movement is an automatic wind movement. It has been newly serviced by a master Rolex-trained watchmaker. It runs and keeps time in good order.

Dial condition and detail: Excellent 2 part dial is as unusual as it is beautiful. Raised gold arrow markers on the inner rind; crown at the 12 o'clock position, and outer printed minute track. Dauphine hands with luminous that no longer glows. Newly refinished to it's original form.

Case condition and detail: Good Rolex Case shows some wear consistent with age, but does not detract from the look of this great classic. Case has been polished with sensitivity to it's original look. This has an engraving on the back: made out to SE Amos 1931-56. Middle case is stamped 14K and .585; Inside case back signed: Montres Rolex SA; Geneva; Swiss; 14K; 0.585; 6585. Some serial numbers are faintly visible between the lugs at 6 o'clock position, but they are difficult to make out (maybe 421 somewhere near the beginning, but the rest is muddled). At the 12 o'clock position, only "Brevet" can be made out easily. Thunderbird bezel is original to the case.

Crystal/Glass condition: Plastic crystal in excellent condition.

Strap condition and detail: New strap custom made in Switzerland in a pumpkin-honey toned alligator-leather. Fitted with a generic gold plated buckle.

Size of watch: about 32mm-34mm in diameter not including lugs or crown (32mm from the 12 to 6 side, 34mm across).
Lug width:19mm
Will fit wrist size: 6 1/4" to 7 3/4" in circumference.

General comments: A rare classic vintage Rolex in 14K gold. Ready to wear
