Josie and the Pussycats is an American animated or Cartoon television series, based upon the Archie Comics comic book series of the same name created by Dan De Carlo. It was produced for Saturday morning television by Hanna-Barbera Productions, airing on CBS. This series started in 1970 as an all female counterpart to the Archies, and in 1972 was re-conceptualized as Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space. The Pussycats finished their television run in 1976.
