A handsome bronze medal honoring Theodore Roosevelt from the United States Mint's long running presidential medal series.

The front shows a strong left facing portrait of Roosevelt with his name around the rim, designed by Mint Chief Engraver Charles E. Barber, whose signature appears near the shoulder. The back, by George T. Morgan of Morgan dollar fame, shows a classical figure of Columbia gesturing toward the U.S. Capitol, with the inscription INAUGURATED PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES SEP. 14, 1901, SECOND TERM MARCH 4, 1905.

The Mint produced this small size in bronze for many years, so this is a later strike of the historic design rather than an original 1905 issue. The warm bronze tone and crisp portrait make it a great piece for a presidential medal collection or a gift for a Teddy Roosevelt fan.
