A spectacular set of the History of the Great War which s copiously illustrated with colour plates, photographs, drawings and maps, the lavish illustrations average getting on to one for every other page and the first book alone contains 368 pages. This lovely production is a collaboration between 8 individuals as well as naval and military experts.
It was intended that "this work should be a permanent record of the war, as well as being accurate and exhaustive and no pains have been spared to achieve these ends".
All the pages and illustrations are in excellent condition while the covers and spine have suffered just a little from flaking of the leather and some minor damage to the lovely gilding, as shown in the photos.
It is also heavy, a little over 10kg, hence the high postage cost.
