Estate sale find purchased from an antiques collector in Torrance, California.
The matting was warped when purchased so new Matt matting was added that’s the reason for the new tape. On the old matting was written in cursive church Washington DC 1947 so I rewrote it on the back of the new matting.

Walter Houk was a close personal friend of Ernest Hemingway, and he was also a painter.
The relationship is documented by Princeton University, literary historians, and Hemingway biographers.
Walter’s wife Juanita Jensen Houk, worked as Hemingway's secretary.
Walter and Juanita were frequent guests at Hemingway's Cuban estate, Finca Vigía.
They went fishing aboard Hemingway's boat, Pilar.
Hemingway hosted their wedding reception at his home in 1952.
Walter Houk later wrote about his friendship with Hemingway.
In 2010, Houk donated five boxes of Hemingway-related historical material to Princeton.
They were marked with the exact same title as this label: Walter Houk Collection of Ernest Hemingway.
