You're bidding on an early Yale Harvard rivalry piece - a hand-drawn and inked poster, 15 1/4" X 17 3/4" - "Cheer Up - The Worst Is Yet To Come". In blue and white Yale colors, it depicts a pretty, young Yale cheerleader or booster holding her bullhorn in one hand and brandishing her Yale pennant above her head, possibly to strike a sad, seated Harvard boy with it.

The depiction of the people and the Art Nouveau flourishes in the bordering suggest pre-1920 vintage, perhaps circa 1910. There is an artist's mark in the corner of the image, "BB", but I have not been able to associate this to anyone specific. It is actually on nice woven paper, with a pencil sketch on the back side, so it appears maybe the paper was repurposed by an art student.

Good condition for age and type - a dog ear crease at bottom-left, a small bump at bottom right corner, a small tear at right edge, and some bumps at the crease edges, but overall great presentation and appeal.

Please review photos carefully to make your own determination of condition and appeal, and don't hesitate to ask any questions prior to bidding - thanks for looking!
