1997 Pokémon Japanese Hungry Snorlax #143 Holo – Nintendo 64 Purchase Campaign – BGS 9 MINT

Up for sale is an iconic early Japanese Pokémon promo: Hungry Snorlax #143 Holo, released in 1997 as part of the Nintendo 64 Purchase Campaign, professionally graded BGS 9 MINT by Beckett.

Often referred to by collectors as “Hungry Snorlax,” this card comes from the very early years of the Pokémon franchise and features memorable artwork by Sumiyoshi Kizuki. Unlike a standard set release, this Snorlax was distributed as a Japanese promotional card connected to Nintendo's Nintendo 64 campaign, giving it a unique history within the early Pokémon TCG.

The card features Snorlax against a colorful cosmos-style holographic background, creating a classic vintage Japanese Pokémon appearance that looks fantastic in person.

This example received an overall BGS 9 MINT grade with strong individual subgrades:

Centering: 8.5
Corners: 10
Edges: 9.5
Surface: 9.5

The 10 Corners and 9.5 Surface/Edges make this an especially attractive example of a nearly 30-year-old Pokémon promotional card.
