Description from Forward
in Book: This Directory, the first extensive listing of early American tool
makers, is the result of pioneering effort by members of the Early American
Industries Association. The Association undertook the compilation of a comprehensive
guide to early commercial tool makers working in North America, with the
conviction that it will be an important resource for tool collectors, museum
curators, and historians of American technology.
Tool collectors, museum
curators, genealogists, and historians of North American technology will find
this publication beneficial
This is one of THE
classic reference books for tool collectors, and one of the books that I reach
for very often in my own library
The best full tool list
for tools pre 1900 in America
A must have book for the
reference
Its value is that it is a
specialized reference work that collectors actually use to identify and
research tools and makers.
This is a heavy book.
