This auction is for Vintage Traditional Asian Doll, Silk Handmade, Geisha, New, Beautiful! This item came from a collector & retired import store owner from Chinatown, Boston, MA, along with other New Old Store Stock I’ve currently listed on EBay . He believes it’s from the late 1960’s - early 1970’s but I can’t seem to find any dates on the doll or stand. I’m told her dress is silk, the face is handpainted, The stand base says made in Taiwan. This is a Traditional, clean, new, very brightly colored, hand-painted doll, displays very lovely on the permanent stand she’s attached too and sports an interesting hand gesture. Her dress appears to be made of silk & a few other fabrics. She carry’s a yellow basket w/ flowers in one hand and has a takamakura, which was often used by Geisha’s to support their head, due to the heavy weight of wooven hair & wigs. She stands at close to 10.5 in T and almost 2in W ( at the base). Geishas are known for their art of entertaining through dance, music, singing, and conversation. This doll would look wonderful in a Vintage Asian Doll Collection. It will carefully wrapped & shipped via USPS w/ tracking & $100 insurance included, as in all my collectible non-media items. I try my best to pack things well & ship within a few days of purchase, dependent on my work schedule.
