1997 Skybox Premium Star Rubies Missing Serials Partial Set Break - Never Seen!

CONDITION NOTE: EXMT condition on this one. A little bit of corner wear to bottom two corners, otherwise pretty nice shape for such a condition sensitive issue. Still, a card that rarely comes up and with the pack inserted version likely to fetch 3x this level. Awesome set with wonderful eye appeal. Thanks for looking.

ADDITIONAL NOTE: I do not see that one of these has come to market publicly...perhaps ever! No records in Card Ladder. Good opportunity to use this as a placeholder in this gorgeous, impossible set.

Up for bid is a single from the 1997 Skybox Premium NFL Star Rubies set. Along with the 97 Star Rubies for NBA, these with the Star Rubies that really helped to set the trend (along with PMG's) for the rare, high-eye appeal late 90s parallels. Fantastic eye appeal that is off the charts.

To be clear: each of these is missing the serial # stamped on the back. My guess is that these were held back for damage replacements, although a bit odd that the condition on them is not consistently higher grade. They will vary from EX to NM-MT, I will try to make a note of the condition in the title and if pertinent to high or low grade will write a condition note above this paragraph to call it out in detail.

What is most compelling about the 1997 Star Rubies set is that they almost never surface! Just impossible to locate in any condition, any format. Most players have the real pack-inserted versions come to market once every 2-3 years. They are positive ghosts! While 50 of each were made, they just never come up. These missing serial # Star Rubies are a great opportunity to land an authentic 97 Star Rubies at a discount, or you can use them as a placeholder in your collection until the real thing comes along, likely at 2-4x the or more the price available here. To contrast there are probably just a few of each player at most that exist in a missing serial version, so they are definitely rare. I will be listing 80 of them including a dozen or so stars & semistars of the era. Thanks for the looking.
