The 211-13-02 is a NEMA 11-frame 4-lead bipolar hybrid stepper motor manufactured by Lin Engineering, designed for compact, cost-sensitive motion control applications. It operates on a 1.8° step angle (200 full steps per revolution) and is rated for 1.3 A per phase with a winding resistance of 1.7 Ω per phase, delivering 8.5 oz-in of holding torque. The motor measures 1.260 in in body length, weighs 0.24 lbs, and uses a 4-lead bipolar configuration suited to standard two-phase stepper drivers.
Built for small, compact installations, it's rated for continuous operation across an ambient temperature range of −20°C to 50°C (−4°F to 122°F), with a maximum case temperature of 140°F. Insulation is Class B (130°C rated), with a minimum insulation resistance of 100 MΩ at 500 VDC and dielectric strength of 500 VDC for one minute — standard ratings for light-industrial and OEM equipment use.
It belongs to Lin Engineering's 211 Series, a family of NEMA 11 hybrid stepper motors offered in multiple stack lengths and configurations (e.g., 211-13-01, 211-13-02, 211-18-xx, 211-20-xx), each trading off length, torque, and current draw for different application needs.
Lead Layout — 211-13-02 (4-Lead Bipolar Stepper Motor)
Lead A+ (typically Black): Phase A, coil end 1
Lead A− (typically Green): Phase A, coil end 2
Lead B+ (typically Red): Phase B, coil end 1
Lead B− (typically Blue): Phase B, coil end 2
Phase A (A+ and A−) forms one continuous coil with roughly 1.7 ohms of resistance between them. Phase B (B+ and B−) forms the second coil, also around 1.7 ohms. There is no electrical connection between Phase A and Phase B — they are fully isolated windings, only linked magnetically inside the motor.
Wire Phase A to one output pair on the driver (A+/A−) and Phase B to the other output pair (B+/B−). Swapping the two wires within a single phase reverses direction for that phase only; never cross wires between Phase A and Phase B.
