Description

A small Victorian cast brass crotal bell with rectangular suspension loop.

This example has a simple rounded form with circular sound holes and retains its original iron pea. Bells of this type were commonly attached to horse harnesses, livestock, and smaller animal tack during the 19th century.

The bell has developed a dark aged patina from years of use and exposure.

Condition

It is in good condition for its age, with age-related wear, patina, surface marks, and some distortion around the sound holes. The original iron pea remains present. Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
