Beautiful piece of Harrach. Could be displayed either way. First pic shows it the correct way I believe as I am told it is a base for an urn or vase. Applied cobalt snake wrapped around the vase with gold gilding flowers and leaves.

No chips except very tip of the end of the snake tail appears to be missing, no cracks, does have wear to gild as seen, especially on the base. Measures approx. 9" tall, 4 1/8" across top where vase would sit, 6 3/8" wide open base
