1981, 1982 & 1983 Donruss Baseball Wax Packs (one each year) - NEAR MINT-MINT. This lot contains a total of three Donruss Baseball wax packs; one each from 1981, 1982 and 1983. These over 40-year-old packs are in the same condition as when they sold originally in 1981, 1982 and 1983; they came from sealed cases which I bought myself back then. The 1981 packs have 18 cards. The key rookie cards in the 1981 set are Fernando Valenzuela, Tim Raines, Mike Scioscia, Mookie Wilson, Kirk Gibson, Harold Baines, and Tony Pena, just to name a few. The 1982 packs have 15 cards and three Babe Ruth puzzle pieces. The rookie card of note in the 1982 set is, of course, Hall of Famer, Cal Ripken, Jr. Other rookies this year include Dave Stewart, Dave Righetti, Tony Pena, Mike Witt, George Bell, Hubie Brooks, Kent Hrbek, Lee Smith and others. The 1983 packs have 15 cards and three Ty Cobb puzzle pieces. The most notable rookies in the 1983 set are set are three Hall of Famers: Tony Gwynn, Ryne Sandberg and Wade Boggs. Other rookies include Willie McGee and Frank Viola. In any of these three packs you might also get regular or Diamond King (in 1982 & 1983 packs) cards of such greats as Rickey Henderson, Pete Rose, Mike Schmidt, Reggie Jackson, Steve Carlton, George Brett, Robin Yount, Rod Carew, Carl Yastrzemski, Jim Rice, Rollie Fingers, Nolan Ryan, Ozzie Smith, Dave Winfield, Eddie Murray, Joe Morgan, Johnny Bench, Tony Gwynn, Ryne Sandberg, Wade Boggs and the list goes on and on. I believe each of the all-time greats above are already in the Baseball Hall of Fame (excerpt for Rose, of course). With 48 cards in these three packs, the odds of getting multiple Hall of Famers is certainly in your favor. The packs will be sent via 1st Class mail.
