Background
Pixar animator Dylan Sisson designed the original RenderMan Walking Teapot in 2003. It was made as an inside joke, and to pay homage to one of the pioneering 3D models in computer graphics, the "Utah Teapot", created in 1973 by British computer scientist Martin Newell. The 2003 Walking Teapot is first of Sisson's series of walking teapot designs, and the only one to come in a cardboard box. Only 6000 were made.
