Sevres Style Hand Painted Watteau Scene Celeste Blue & Raised Gold Plate B
Nice antique 19th century French or British soft paste porcelain plate. Decorated with a hand painted Watteau / courting couple scene with a sheep,, castle, and trees. Has a celeste blue border with raised gold scrollwork. Double gold gilding along the edge. Signed by the artist. Has a hand painted blue pseudo Sevres mark on the reverse.
Has some scratches and enamel loss to the scene, wear to the gilding, a small gilded over flake to the edge and three chips to the foot rim, but otherwise good condition.
Measures approximately 9 5/8 inches wide.
