Antip Kuzmichev, the owner of a gold, silver, and bronze factory, founded his business in 1856. By the end of the 19th century, the factory employed 120 workers and apprentices. This was a fairly large enterprise by the standards of the time. The factory produced tableware and ecclesiastical silverware in the neo-Russian style. Its enameled silverware was particularly renowned, popular not only in Russia. The factory collaborated closely with the renowned Tiffany house, which supplied the American market with luxury goods, exotic goods, and decorative arts from China, Japan, and Russia.
Like all famous Russian factories producing enameled silverware, Antip Kuzmichev's factory had its own unique artistic signature, its own easily recognizable style. And we will see this now.

Exceptional Russian Imperial silver decorative lamp / sculpture crafted by the renowned Moscow silversmith Antip Kuzmichev (A.K.).
The entire piece is made of solid Russian silver (84 zolotnik ≈ 875) with hand‑applied enamel details. Kuzmichev was one of the few Russian masters whose works were retailed by Tiffany & Co in the United States around 1890–1910.
The sculpture depicts a naturalistic tree trunk with finely modelled branches, leaves and birds. All elements — trunk, foliage, birds, decorative ring — are silver, not base metal. The upper ring features colourful enamel floral motifs, characteristic of Kuzmichev’s workshop.
