Patrick was born in Monaghan, Ireland in April 1891. He moved to Canada and was a farmer by trade when he joined the colours on the 24th November 1915. On the 15th September 1916 the British army brought a new weapon into play the Tank. There's huge write ups online about the 21st battalion fighting at Courcelette as part of the 4th Canadian Infantry Brigade but they started the attack from the Windmill towards Taffy Trench and then the Sugar Factory (map attached). During this attack Patrick was sadly killed in action.
Included is Patricks Graves Registration, Attestation Papers and other information.
