An early Camco Oaklawn chrome on brass snare drum.This is in pretty nice condition.The snare mech and damper are fully functional.Comes with the original chrome on brass tall boy hoops.As far as I'm aware this is all original.A very heavy drum.It sounds amazing.
I'm not sure whether this drum is exactly as the original M701 was or not. It has a beam through the centre which is usually for a parallel action snare mechanism.
This is how I bought it from Chas E Foote many years ago.
so though the shell, hoops, lugs throw off are original, I don't know if the mechanism has been adapted.
also, the drum key holder is missing and has been replaced by a vent.

This information was sent to me by an eBay member: This is an early Camco 701 "Super" by virtue of the rod passing through the shell (lifting from both sides). The bottom hoop would have a larger gate for the parallel system. So, although the bottom hoop is probably a 1st generation Camco, it is not the one that originally came with the drum.
