Helena Wolfsohn Dresden Hand Painted Floral & Gold Scrollwork Cup & Saucer A

Nice antique late 19th century porcelain cup and saucer with floral scrollwork relief molded design with gold gilt highlights. Hand painted with pink, purple, blue, yellow, and orange flowers. Gold gilding along the edge and to the outside of the handle. Has a gold flower mark obscuring the original manufacturer's mark. This can be seen if you hold it up to a bright light. The manufacturer's mark is an MR France in green used by Martial Redon in Limoges. Also marked on the bottom with a blue crown D overglaze decorator's mark used by Helena Wolfsohn in Dresden Germany between 1886 and 1891. Also has a retailer/importer mark for Bailey Banks & Biddle Philadelphia in red.

Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition. No chips or cracks.

The cup measures approximately 3 3/4 inches wide including the handle x 2 3/8 inches tall.
The saucer measures approximately 4 3/4 inches wide.

This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
