This is a fine Civil War Brass Musket Barrell Band with iron swivel that remains in very good condition. The band is constructed of one sold piece of brass with no split at the bottom for tightening on the barrel and stock. In view of this, the band was apparently held in place by a band spring. The iron swivel is attached to the band by a screw that passes through a ring on either side of the lower band stud and moves freely on the band. The brass is with an attractive age toned patina and free from damage. It measures 1¼ inches across at the widest point and 1½ to the bottom of the ramrod channel. The total length of the band from top to bottom of the sling swivel stud is 2 inches. I am unsure of what rifle this may fit. It is in very good, undamaged condition.
