This is a very nice pre- World War II U.S. Marine Corps Officers Khaki Uniform Jacket that is in excellent condition. It is constructed of khaki colored cotton material with open lapels and a four button front closure. The four large naval general service front closure buttons are constructed of blackened bronze and complete with full finishes. There are two pleated breast pockets and two unpleated hip pockets all retaining their small blackened naval general service buttons. The sleeves are with pointed false French cuffs. Pinned to each epaulet is a pair of coffin style, sterling marked Captain’s rank insignia. Pinned to each lapel is a matching pair of blackened bronze, screw back eagle, globe, and anchor insignia. Pinned above the left breast pocket is a ½-wide ribbon bar consisting of the First World War Victory Medal with one silver campaign star, the Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal, and the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal. The bar appears to be applied upside down but is as it was worn. Pinned below the ribbon bar is a sterling marked Expert Rifleman shooting badge with open catch. There are no holes in the fabric. There is a rust stain below the lower front button that is close to the inside edge of the right hip pocket. However, this is insignificant and does not distract from the jacket in any way. It remains a beautiful example of a pre-World War II Marine Corps Officers Jacket in excellent, undamaged condition.

Note: Please do not ask for additional measurements as this uniform is being offered as an historic artifact and not a costume. It has competed its active service and is now to be cared for with the honor and respect it has earned and deserves. It remains a silent witness to those times and events that secured the freedom and guaranteed the security of this, and of future generations to come.
