An exceptional, authentic antique cast brass decorative crown finial, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.
This heavy piece measures 8.5 cm in height and features an ornate imperial crown design topped with a stylised cross.
KEY ATTRIBUTES: - Authentic Sand-Cast Interior: The internal hollow walls show the distinct, rough, sandy texture unique to traditional hand-poured foundry molds (not a modern smooth die-cast reproduction). - M6 Metric Threading: Features an integrated 6mm threaded hole cut directly into the solid brass base. The flat rim displays concentric tooling lines from manual lathe finishing. - Untouched Patina: It features a beautiful, deep, natural brown-gold aged patina. It has been safely soaked to remove old dust and grime without stripping the historic finish.
POTENTIAL USES: Perfect as a replacement crown for a French wood/plaster Santo devotional statue, an ornate top finial for a German or French mantel clock case, or a unique architectural/lighting accent. It will also make a lovely and unusual ornament.
