An exceptionally rare decorative vase produced in the Soviet Union during the late Mid-Century period.
Unlike ordinary plastic décor, this piece was made from thick cast acrylic (lucite/plexiglass) using a complex manufacturing technique that trapped thousands of tiny air bubbles inside the material. Combined with vivid amber, honey, orange and deep red swirls, the result resembles glowing Murano art glass while remaining solid acrylic.
The sculptural organic silhouette and vibrant translucent colors make this an outstanding display piece for Mid-Century Modern, Space Age or retro interiors.
Because of the complexity of manufacturing, these bubble acrylic objects were produced in relatively small quantities and are becoming increasingly difficult to find today.
